Replica Kay Kraft Tail Piece

Finished making this the other day for one of Blues beaten Redshaws Mates , it's a replica tail to fit a 1930 's Kay Kraft - these are as rare as hens teeth to get hold of hence making one - made from dulled off Stainless Steel Complete with Hand made Stainless Steel Rivets

    i used SS because the original was Zink Plated and i'm not able to do that so i chose SS but dulled it off to age it some
  • Nice looking tailpiece ... Tiny holes, and you only snapped four bits, you done good. SS is a biatch, that's probably why we don't see much of it on here. :-))

  • Thanks very much Bob - it was a little bugger to make the only thing i had to go on was a few photos and a Rubbing that was taken from the butt of the guitar where the original tail lived which had left marks also marks were left where the Ball end of the strings had marked the top of the guitar body - i actually snapped four 2mm drill bits drilling the holes for the rivets , cant even remember the last time i snapped a drill bit :-(
