Relic 3 string

Box was kind of beat up, so I did a relic job on it. Pressed fiber box had good 'tap tone' and it has good acoustic tone and volume. Loud plugged in :). Tuned GDG and built to learn Amazing Grace slide style from Night Owl's lesson.

  • Perfect relic job, Uncle John. I like the colourful appearance of this guitar.

  • Very nice indeed. Totally different (what I'm about to mention here) but a longtime friend used to regularly light a candle or just use a little blowtorch and literally burn streaks and parts of the wood he was using for a shelf, table or whatever after he'd assembled it. He'd burn, then immediately put the smoldering part out with a large wet sponge, doing this all over the piece, then when he was satisfied with it, would let it totally cool. When done, he'd sand or use a bit of steel wool or both, then rub in a bit of stain and polyurethane it, buff and there was a modern "antique" look. I -may- do it with a cbg at some point. -Glenn
