That's a lot of strings. Don't they pair the strings into 4 courses with the two strings within a course 1/8" apart, and then a bit wider spacing between courses? I think with 8 equal-spaced strings it would be too easy to get lost. But then, if you are a real mandolin player maybe you get used to this kind of string spacing.
