Gary, it is old. Most of my paint goes back to art school days in the early 60's. I,m liking the green idea. Might try it today. Green over the work so far will be olive to dark green. I,ll try it in the pegbox to see. Might be nice... Good old green...
Thanks Wes, Gary. Thanks Monterey. Red, green sounds good. The green will happen in her case. Green felt. I started the antiquing today. Venitian red and burnt umber as planned. Needs another session to fully develop. Glued the fingerboard on this evening. Sanded the edges on the oil patina to make highlights. It's coming alive. Maybe one string strung tomorrow to hear her sing. :^)
Wow, coming along super-nice, Dave! You could even do two-tone red and green like an old farm wagon...but it looks good. Love the curves of the tailpiece
I think I will use the oil paint antique red, Venitian red. Not as bright as tom his Chinese red. I had to sand the wood to get to bare wood for gluing. I,ll do the head and scroll in Venitian red and Burt umber.

Looking super good, Dave. Are you going to stain the clear wood parts?
