  Thanks for the comments. I am having a blast making this thing. I used the wood from the inside of the cigar box to make this.  Does anyone know what kind of wood it could be?

  I went for a leaf design to dress it up a bit.  There is a groove for the brass rod to fit into so it wont slide.  The tension of the strings will hold it in place.
