  • Interesting build. How well does the stainless steel bowl work as a resonator? I have seen stainless bowls in pet shops and thought about using them but they seem heavier and stiffer than aluminium resos - I wonder if this is a problem.
  • 305689572?profile=RESIZE_1024x1024To John : here you have a view from the inside, but I'm not sure that's the best way to do...I glued the bowl under the top of the box. This Partagas box was just too thin to let any room under the 'cone', but if I could, I would have let the heelcap go through the box to the tailpiece, and then put the bowl on this piece of wood (just like in 'genuine' resonator guitars). By searching on this site you sure will find some other reso CBG, with plenty of inside views !

BTW, thanks for the comments !

    ps: excuse my poor english...

  • Hi Don, Just sent you a friend request.  I have started a resonator Ukulele discussion in the cigar box ukulele group section.  I would love to see more pics of your 4 string resonator, especially inside.  I have made 4 ukes and now want to make a resonator.  I do not know what parts I need or what will make the best sound.  Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated.  Great job.  jh
