Dollar Tree cake pan body, 20.1” scale length, GDG, 3D printed frets, fishing line or classical guitar strings. Still fooling around with the design. Tried pie pans first’ did not care for the round body.

Thanks for the feedback Jerry! This is my first venture into using pans. I have learned a lot of what doesn’t work via trial and error. With a pie pan putting a back on the pan really ups the volume and improves the tone. Was not near as dramatic with the cake pan and I was going for a super simple build. I have a new idea in mind for how I will do the piezo to simplify mounting the piezo. Sounds best plugged in.
Doug, pans are great,. I went through a series of old pans and new store bought pans., you can make a great poor mans dobro with a pan, and square resonators sound great., old pizza pans, bakeware from the '50's., you can make some space age stuff cheap that sounds great,. Rock On.!!

Thanks Kale! Super easy to do. Just drilled 6 holes in the pan to attach neck, pickguard, strap, and pickup.
Very cool idea!

I would mount a solid board or braced cigarbox to the back., seems to sweeten the tone,.,
