octave mandolin comparison, help me decide

Mahogany body and neck, rosewood fretboard. On the left I have placed on a walnut headstock veneer and and pickgaurd. • Very nice
  • Hi Harrison, both gits look really cool mate, like Adam I would keep the headstock veneer but pick guard or not a beautiful guitar all the same, something to be proud of mate, well done, Chris. :)

  • You'll make the right choice, Harri. Personally, with such a full-on wood color palette, a darker pick guard is a bonus...rosewood or another dark color to compliment the fingerboard and "pop" against the mahogany.

  • Definitely keep the headstock veneer. And you could cut the pickgaurd around the volume knob. Either way it's a beautiful thing!!

  • I like plain better
