This is a 22" scale electric octave mandolin, that is 4 pair in unison tunded GDAE one octave below a mandolin. Mahogany body and neck, rosewood fretboard.On the left I have placed on a walnut headstock veneer and and pickgaurd. I like it well enough but I generally lean towards plain.If I keep the pickgaurd the volume knob is kind of going to be in a weird place as I already did the control cavity from the back. I suppose I colud do another one on the top below the pick gaurd.Your thougts?

Hi Harrison, both gits look really cool mate, like Adam I would keep the headstock veneer but pick guard or not a beautiful guitar all the same, something to be proud of mate, well done, Chris. :)
You'll make the right choice, Harri. Personally, with such a full-on wood color palette, a darker pick guard is a bonus...rosewood or another dark color to compliment the fingerboard and "pop" against the mahogany.

Definitely keep the headstock veneer. And you could cut the pickgaurd around the volume knob. Either way it's a beautiful thing!!
