Got the Fret board glued on and shaped the headstock. Still debating if I should add an 1/8" piece of black walnut to the back. It would help with the string angle. I'm going with a zero fret and a Gitty wooden string retainer.

    I wondered about that also Uncle John..Gitty has them for the "Tupelo Tenor" kit but I haven't seen them sold as a separate part.

    I vote yes on the back strap.  I just got some orders from Gitty.  That string retainer idea is good.  I don't know if he has them in 4 string models.
