23 inch scale; poplar neck and red oak fret board, dark walnut stained to mark the usual frets. Other finish is just 'natural'. 3 strings intended for GDg tuning. Piezo disk hot melt glued in a beer bottle cap.

I tried for something similar with multiple wood pieces. It was a disaster and ended up in the scrap pile. I'll have to give it a try with stain at some point. Thanks for giving the trade secret.
Thanks much, Brent. I started this striped stain approach on a couple of canjos, and liked it so much I decided to do my next CBG (this one). I do have to give a tip-of-the-hat to Dave Lynas for inspiration; but I really like how neat it looks and how stinking easy it is to do! I may not do it on ALL future builds, but...... you never know!
