Here is another shot from the underside of the sound box showing the neck support beam. The neck will enter the box from the right and about 2 inches of the neck will attach to this neck support beam, which essentially bends the neck out of the way of the resonator. The neck is 1" x 1" while this support beam is 1.5" x 0.75" as the total height needs to be less than 2" (1" + 0.75" = 1.75", giving me 1/4" of play to angle the neck downward, etc. To get the two inch overlap, I'll need to trim the height of the neck-into-the-box part of the neck so it will avoid hitting the resonator.
