  yep string pressure holds the can in place. its a floating set up. if it floats and is not secured then the vibration transfer is better and more vibration means more volume,(note: the back of the neck is cut just like the hole where the can sets,so the neck actually helps transfer vibrations to the can also for more volume.) the finger board is just screwed down to the neck i did not have to glue any part together that was not glued before in the building of this project.

  Is the can just sitting there, held in place by the bridge and strings?
