  Also - case in point: The last pup I would before was for my license plate build. It had 9200 winds and was really messy, the coil was literally spilling out of the bobbin. It sounded quite good though!

  Thanks Richey!  That eliminates on of my obstacles to starting my hand at one!  Much easier to scatterwind!  BTW, do you pot these with epoxy or hot wax?

  Actually Gary, no. In my experience the more haphazard the winding the better the tone. Look up scatterwound pickups on Google. Something a machine can't do it seems.
