My First Build

Not perfect, but loads of fun! The splotches on some of the frets are wood filler...should really count those frets twice before marking.Frets are 18 gauge brads (next time I'm using real frets), markers are carpet tacks, and the sound holes are lids from a cheap salt and pepper set. The nut and the bridge are brass toilet bolts...they looked about the right size. It doesn't sound too bad, considering I've not played much slide guitar.

  • Great job.  I never thought of the shaker tops.  I've used carpet tacks before.  I have toilet bolts left over. This is inspiring.  As far as wood filler, maybe you have learned something, which is my driving force.  Thanks for sharing.

  • Looks as good as it sounds in the video!

  • Very nice.

  • Nice build Jeff, if the frets were your only mistake that aint bad going.

  • Looks great! Beats my first build! Like the sound hole covers.
