I'm pretty sure that she cut the scarf joint (it was a year and several builds ago, so i could be wrong). Cutting the wood was one of her favorite parts. We used hand tools for everything except for drilling holes. I used an electric drill for those.
I can really only take 49% of the credit on this one. My 7 year old daughter spec'd it out and did a lot of the work. I just helped with the design and process. She did most of the cutting, filing, etc.
