My latest build so far in mock up. The pickguard is a temporary laminated one for working out the design (notice the pickup ring's i did that for extra hight adjustment for the pick uo), its to soft and ding's easy so it will be replaced with a Wenge pickguard made from 7mm wenge flooring. Thank's guy's!!! I have some issue's with the wiring but it should be done in about a week (maybe 2)
The Red Meranti is more of a construction wood than a tonewood i believe. Its tough as nail's though, very heavy and very tightgrained so it should sound nice and have a lot of sustain. Colour should be Redbrown-ish when finished with clear laquer.
