Lap Steel

Finally got around to finishing this after setting it on the self for a few years. C6 tuning, Poplar body with single coil pickup. The fretboard is from the how-to I did a few years ago on using 4" plastic zip- ties for fret markers. The bridge and nut are 1/2" alum angle polished with steel wool.

  • Thanks guys ............... Darryl, yes it does sound good and being solid poplar it sustains forever. I'm just learning to play a lap steel. I had a uncle who was a steel guitar player back in the 50's and 60's. He played with a lot of big name country singers. He played on the Louisiana Hayride show back when Elvis and Johnny Cash were starting out. Wish I would have been smart enough to get him to teach me when I was growing up ;-)
