    Thank you Dave for your comment. In the 1930s, when plastic was invented, Pearloid (aka mother of toilet seat) was an inexpensive and durable substitute for mother of pearl. Guitar builders went crazy. Sometimes to the extent, they covered the entire instrument. LOL Enjoy.
