Junkshop Banjolele

I didn't build this, but thought I would share. Bought for £1.00 in a Junkshop, just needed dusting off, some new strings and a bridge. It has a real hide head, which is intact and tight, but mucky (anyone suggest a way to clean it?) I can just about make out the name 'Fitzroy' on the headstock badge and there's another metal badge which says 'Marvel'. If anyone has any info on ths instrument I would be very grateful. Cheers.

  • Thanks for that Chester, it really feels like a quality uke and I'm guessing from what info I've found so far, quite old. Thanks for the link and the eraser tip, I will certainly be trying that. I've been too wary of damaging the head to try anything much. Cheers.
  • Great find! I love my banjo uke. You can try cleaning the head with an eraser. I've had good luck with all types.
