  • Very very nice. Love that scroll and vintage look!!!
  • Great lookin CBD! love the old time colors, the headstock, and good soundhole placement.
  • I actually think that from an acoustic point of view placing the soundhole(s) on the edge of the box makes more sense... That way you have an uninterupted top to vibrate freely. It is the top that makes the volume... the plus is that when you are working with a vintage box or one with great graphics, you don't have to decide what you are going to sacrifice for soundhole placement....

  • I just got a batch of vintage boxes, and I, too, am loathe to mar the top. Is the sound off the side okay, or is it better off the top but a compromise worth making?
  • Hi Diane... good to talk to you again...

it's a tiny 15 inch scale length (octave, plus one fret) ... it has a sweet little soprano voice and enjoys singing melodies....
the new owner is really happy... she plays and plans on displaying this little jewel in a prominent spot in her home...

    the best,

  • Sam, what is the scale/VSL? Looks like my size!
  • Thanks Randy... the owner want the top "unmolested", so the placement of the soundholes made sense...That peghead is sorta a signature of mine.

    Sam
