Having seen SO many nice hubcap builds out there, I knew I had to try one/ So with a lot of help and ideas from here, visits to the hardware store, the second hand store, some parts from C.B. Gitty, plus a trip to the auto salvage yard :).I finally put one together. Complete with angled head stock, fretted fret board, some huge firsts for me. Plus not wanting it to be worth less than a plum nickel when I was done with it, I inserted a 1935 Indian Head nickel into the headstock.Top four strings tuned to open G for now round it out. Will try middle 4, then bottom 4 to see what sounds better to me.Any suggestions as to others ? I pretty much pretend to be able to play :) But I sure like making them !!!

Tom - what did you use for the bottom of the git? I've got a set of vintage VW caps and I've been trying to find an old wooden bowl with a flat bottom to use but not luck so far...
