cool, I really like using springs. I enjoy the sound I have gotten thus far. In my latest build, I am doing a 3 string 27in scale baritone, with delta pickup and 2 springs for extra sound when playing acoustic. The box is an Undercrown box, thickest box I have ever used thus far.
I will keep my eyes out for your progress and look forward to seeing and hearing how this one turns out for you.
Once put a spring in a license plate one string guitar with a metal tube mop handle (plugged ends with wood dowel) neck and it gave it a nice growl when the string is attacked fairly hard. You might find a usable spring on you're neighbor's screen door Uncle John. Don't mention my name if you get caught. ; )
Wanted to see what a spring will do with a magnetic pickup. Never tried it with one before. We'll see. I have to build my CBGs strong. My roadie (me) can be pretty clumsy at times.

Thank you, sir. I may go spring shopping tomorrow. (Not the usual kind of spring shopping).
They add a bit of sustain and a reverb effect with piezos Uncle John. This will be the first time I've tried the spring with a mag pup.
Vern, I have 3 builds in progress. Now would be the time to add a spring. What are they reputed to do? Add sustain?

I have never done that. It's kind of neat. And it is good you made the box strong.
