Howl at the moon.

Came out mostly good. The 5 dollar pickup from MGB is Excellent.I had to use screws for string guides and that disappointed me. Sounds okay acoustic. Nothing special. Plays decent. GDg tuning.Hey, these things don't grow on squash vines.

  • Thanks, Brent.

  • Nice one.

  • Thanks, Wes.  That pickup sounds great.

  • Yikes what hobo has 60 bucks to buy a pick up I've got some metal cores from my tattoo machines going to use them to wind my own as well ..
  • Have wound and potted a few Mag Pups mainly from old Wall Wart's, which do work, have tried winding with very fine Copper wire, but it keeps breaking  :-(  and they don't sound as good as the cheap Chinee Ebay ones, as the pic shows I was incorrect in calling it a $56 Pup, its actually a little bit more than that   44.97 USD = 57.0168AUD

  • Yow, Alan. That is some high shipping or tariff.   Somehow I have not gotten interested in the pickup making.  I am kind of pleased that I did early on take or make some piezos from door bells.

  • Looks Good 'UJ', glad your happy with the $5 pup, had a look at the MGB site, if I were to purchase one, after taking into account the Exchange Rate & Postage Costs to the "Land of Aus" it would turn into a $56AUD Pickup, I think I'll have a go at winding my own!     :-)

  • Thanks, guys.  This is one of those good deals where I like it better the day after stringing it up.  That 5 dollar pickup from MGB is quite good and it is better acoustic than I first thought.

Yup, James O.  I thought of Clock.  He commented on it on FB.   I will hang on to it for now or longer.  Could gift it later.  Could fret it and make it a 4 string.  If I had a good place to hang it horizontally, it would make pretty nice and playable wall art.

  • Nice!

  • Great job UJ .
