Gibson 'Keystone' style chrome machine heads fitted, with mirror polished stainless steel nut screw, threaded end rounded over. The final part to be fitted once the strings are on is a string retainer, which I will make from some 5.25mm nylon rod cut to length to make a bush and drilled down the middle for a 2.75mm x 12mm chrome screw. On my first build I found a length of 6.5mm for the nylon bush was ideal, allowing enough thread for the screw to hold against string tension and still leave clearance for the string between the screw head and the top of the bush, which also left the string path from the retainer to the furthest machine head parallel to the head stock face as intended.

Now I'm the one struggling for words Unc….not usually something I have a problem with, as well you know....(eek!) All I can say is a heartfelt thank you for your lovely words....cheers Unc, it means a lot. I think between you and Dave you have perfectly summed up what I was aiming for with this pair of builds....I'm so pleased you 'get it', and delighted that you appreciate the work....I'm beaming a great big smile Unc…thank you my friend(s.)
I am failing to find a word or phase... Cactus eating Dave found a fitting word in elegant.
It is sit and stare and appreciate. The finish is wonderful. The shape and tuners are right and the mother of pearl, mother of toilet seat, abalone thingy is the just right jewel on the crown.
Aaaaarrggh! My cover is blown....! OK, I admit it....Daniel builds all my stuff.....thanks Daniel! :-))
…..and thanks Dave! I know you meant me really!! I reckon you'd better stop eating that cactus that you and Unc brought back from when you were lost in the desert though.....you too Unc…..!! :-)))
