Thanks for the response. You may want to try Maguiar's #7 glaze for a future polishing job. That and then Maguiar's PlastX works really well with just hand polishing over laquer for me. It will be appropriate for car themed builds. :)
When the finish is still green it isn't slick however after it goes through the car buffer with the jewelers rouge it slicks right up even fret edges if you have done good file work. Let it cure for at least a week Slick as a baby's butt.My playing still sounds like when the cats tail got caught under the rocking chair one time, but that isn't fault of instrument.
Same as the other license plate instrument - how does the high gloss fret board finish work for you as a player? And did you finish the plate itself with the same finishing material?
