Ah , a fellow cigar smoker. No I don't throw them out I smoke them! The comment was for those who don't smoke. I guess I was trying to be politically correct. What was I thinking!!! LOL
I just starting out building CBG but I did find a way to get "free cigar boxes". I went to a local tobacco shop & ask about boxes which they sold for $2 & $3. I picked out 2 & when I brought them to the clerk she asked if they was anything else. I then pickup up 2 cheap $1.83 ea cigars & put them up on the counter. The clerk totaled it up & said I owed $4.01. I said that maybe she fought to add the boxes and she said no their free because you bought cigars.
Now I confess I'm an occasional cigar smoker, but I thought if I bought a couple of cigars maybe they give me a deal on the boxes. Even if I throw the cigars away it's still a good deal. Lesson learned cigars stores are in the business of selling cigars. If your a "customers you'll get on their good side & not appear as someone looking for a freebie. Now I'm not endorsing smoking, throw the darn cigars away. But it is a way to get "free boxes".
Another idea is making a CBG with the stores name on it. In return for a life time supply of free boxes and maybe even selling CBG's on consignment.
I actually could have gotten more. The store gives them away to the local primary schools for class projects. They didn't blink when I piled up 9 of them.

My current build, and my next one, are Padron 2000s. $2 each at Goodwill. Going with Crow style on this one.
PADRON... :-b :-b :-b !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I get some free from my local liquor store too, but never any Padrons.
