fretwire bender MK1

Prototype Fret wire Bender , need to radius some fretwire for the build i'm making ,so instead of paying Stew mac loads of money i made one today , used some 10mm Alloy plate (needs shaping ) a few roller bearings and some Delryn nylon , made a fine adjustment wheel so you can set the required radius - one feature that the Stew mac Fret bender does not have !

  • Hi Dennis
Thanks for your comments mate , wow you been bending by hand ! thats gotta be very hard , much easier with a bender , from inserting the Fretwire into the bender it all of 2 seconds to bend a two foot length of fretwire , the fine adjuster works real well .
    Thanks again
    juju.
  • i like that fret bender,i have been planning on building one, so for i have been bending by hand but it is slow and not as uniform as what you have here.i really like that fine adjust.
  • i dont have time to make these or CBG's but i seem to get by slow but sure lol!!
    juju :-)
  • I agree, Brilliant! Now your not going to have time to make CBG, necks and guitars, you will be fabricating "adjustable fret benders" to sell to the rest of us.
  • Thanks Tiny , such a simple idea but works a treat , dont know where Stew Mac get there prices from - for me to have bought a Stew Mac bender plus shipping and import Tax would have been over £100 or $135
Thanks for your comment mate much apriciated
    juju. ;-~
