Just throw a piece of steel wool in a jar & cover with white vinegar. Make sure the steel wool stays submerged. Anything after 24 hours is good? I usually do 48-72 hours (darker)? It’s best to strain out rust solids through a coffee filter, that’s it? Mostly a waiting game, it’s kool to watch it bubble tho :D lookin good
Nice oak. Nice bikes too. In the town that I just moved from, maybe half the music players did some bicycling too. Working on our new place most every day and making an hour for music and music related things. Gonna get my bike out soon.

Oak always looks nice with stain! Have you tried vinegar & steel wool stain?
