I've installed a Ted Crocker peizo pickup below the bridge near the volume control plate. The small plate gains me access to the jack and to position the pickup. It's just in there with the double stick tape that comes with the pickup. Ted has the pickup wired to a volume pot and the jack. No soldering involved. And it works great!

Thanks guys. This is one of my best efforts. The crate caught my eye because my good friend and fellow "Procrastinator" (our band) is Doug Fairchild. I had to have that crate! The side you see here was very faded so i painted the type with oil paints and a tiny brush. My graphics background came in handy. The scale length is 19 1/4 inches. I've tuned it 5 steps up from E tuning (reg. 6 string tuning) to A. It works perfect for this guitar. Nice mandolin sound. This sounds good acoustic and plugged in. Doug likes it too. Now i'm done he'll do the final nut cutting to make the action just right and have one of my builds. It can be very loud plugged in. :^) Oh, and the neck came from my friend Dave Rodum in Georgia. He's my old friend from boyhood and he fools around with musical inventions and the history of instruments. He sent a big box of parts to starts of builds he was working up.
Mr. Dave, have not heard much from you of late and wondered what you were up to. Now I can see. This is just my style and pretty close to wonderful. What is the scale and how is the acoustic tone and volume?
Did you salivate when you found that box? You found a great neck to go with it.
