neck runs through...top was glued over it, a fretboard glued on and planed way down (just to give a slight overhang onto the body and beefup the neck a 1/16 of an inch) --- routed out the sound ports on either side of the neck. cut a couple half-moon strips and glued those under the port lip to have good wood to screw the grill into --- the thin back panel that had no bracing so I glued in a tongue depressor to support the plys without killing the 'drumhead' tone. This thing should RING when done. fingers crossed...
