Not a Cigar Box Guitar this time!, but something that could be used in their construction, these Carpenter discarded Estwing Hammers came into my possession sometime in the Days of Yore, when I was in the Construction Industry, they have been laying in the shed for umpteen years waiting to have new handles fitted, finally got around to doing them, in the last couple of days, not sure if the handles I attached would stand up to the rigours of full on building work, but they will look nice hanging in the Man Cave. :-)

Yep! Ron, best thumb bashers by far, I also have a 20oz Vinyl Handle Estwing, which is my main go to hammer, but they ain't cheap, my local hardware store sells the leather bound 24oz for abt $100 and the 20oz for $75 :-)
"Thanks UJ & John McNair", the recycled Forest Red Gum I have, was sourced from a large discarded TV / Entertainment Cabinet, along with a goodly supply of Grey Ironbark, which I have used in numerous Guitar Builds, in retrospect I should have used the Forest Red Gum in both handles, as it was easier to work with and looks much nicer, the colours of the Timber's were very much enhanced when I gave them a coat of Tung Oil. :-)

Thanks Uncle Toad, other peoples Trash is sometimes someone else's Treasure :-)
you're a man after my own heart - excellent job!
"Rope", I use them to Smash the Bejesus out of Disc Piezo's, just before I Chuck 'em in the Rubbish Bin ;-D

I like that red one! I'd love add it to my collection!
Very nice save, hammers and woods. Man, that gum is pretty. You hit the nail on the head with these, AGP.
There was a man in our old town that had a LARGE collection of hammers. There are many different specialty hammers.
