Used them in a few of my builds, Yes! Cheap, Modern and Plastic looking, but (in my opinion for what its worth) the way to go with a Piezo Rod or Disc Pup, the other option of course is to build one into a Preamp Box :-D
Dave, they make and sell a smaller one for ukes that works great on 3 and 4 strings. I think they give a real nice sound for the type of music you play.

I’ve resisted trying one of those baby’s as they look so modern and plastic. And big on a cigar box.
