I might have over done it when I made it for the blocking I used...white oak and 4" lag bolts ...3 in the headstock and 2 in the tailpiece. Glued the blocking in with that foaming gorilla glue...this thing ain`t never coming apart...lol
Yeah Jim when I cut that hollow limb off the tree you should of seen the critter nests that was in it. Even though it`s a hollow limb it`s still solid and heavy as black locust usually is. Around these parts black locust is used as fence posts, some are over 100 years old and age like rock...lol
