1/4 scale upright bass my 9 year-old daughter helped me build. This is her home practice instrument as an alternative to buying or renting a cheap student-model instrument. Figured Maple body and neck with purpleheart fingerboard.

No, wes, these are bass guitar tuners with the biggest gears I could find. I got them hanging on the wall at Guitar Center for $55. The upright bass tuners are over $100 for the least expensive I could find. It's only a day, but these seem to work fine and the gear ratio is good for precise tuning. The bushing sleeves are also metal, so I expect good performance for a long time.

Stout. Small but mighty. Yup. I like those woods too.

Thanks Jim. Making the radius on the fingerboard was a bit of a chore, but well worth it.
Very cool Eric! Love me some purple heart.
