Quick build 4 stringer to try out a few new things for me. Usually my neck sticks out both ends of the box and is heeled, but went for a single thickness with the brass hinge, the neck is glued to the lid instead of the base, new soundholes and non-scarfed headstock... I like my usual methods better, but its good to experiment! It sounds really bright acoustically - cos of the banjo bridge?

Im guessing here Robert, but is that because the tailpiece is narrower than the bridge? If so, and if your bridge isnt cut very deep, the strings will naturally try topull straight as you tune up. Either use a wider tail so the strings are already in line, or use a taller bridge with a deeper slot.
Nice work on tail piece. I'm trying to use that idea for a six string with an acoustic guitar bridge, but i can't seem to get the strings to rest in the right place on the saddle. Is it easier with the banjo bridge?
The banjo bridges are great... until put on a dobro or canjo - then the sound is more banjo like than CBG like (I think) as I have just spoken to Ted about it last night...Looks great Ben!
Thanks again chaps. I cant take any credit for the hinge bit - I'v seen loads of them, and I think I pinched the welding-rod-to-hold-the-strings off you Cajun! Lol
Yup, those banjo bridges are cool - Il definately be using those again. And I think you'll be seeing those intergalactic soundholes to... quick, easy and effective.
