Dockery Farm Sytle Fretless

I've gone fretless. Most of my CBN time has been spent playing fretted guitars. I did a couple fretless Deuce (2 strings) vids and somewhere around a hundred 3 string fretted guitar vids in assorted tunings. I've always liked the look of a simple, old, relic fretless – and most of all a fretless 3. I think they are historical and classic. So for now, this is where my interest lies. This git is my first done with the sound hole over the neck. Classic old timey. This guitar has a piezo and sounds good plugged in. It is going to be a good one, but right now, the small string is slipping side to side at the nut. Annoying. Will replace the current nut with a screw and do what is needed to make this one a very good player.Aint this the greatest hobby ever?

  • Love that quote, Mudbelly.

  • I like fretless myself. As Brownie McGee said, "Once they start sliding there no going back."

  • Thanks, Pat!

  • Good build John! I like the soundhole idea! Cross on the headstock is a cool add also  :-)

  • Thanks, guys.   Yup, same here Muddy.  I want to keep the passion.    Have at it SD.  I am kind of suited for guitars that can get knocked over without me worrying about them - and the whole good history and tradition too.

  • I appreciate the rustic look. Your three string has a user friendly look, just pick me up and jam!

  • Hobby??!? It's an addiction. I hope I'm never cured!
