This is build #50. in our shop 'the Social Studies store' in the mountains of Cumberland, Maryland. I have sold half of my cigar boxes to guitar players (including some pros!), and half to wannabes and to people who want to hang them on the wall. Fender single coil Strat pickup combined with a piezo hot glued right under the resonator. I line the interior of the top with with grounded aluminum tape. 3 way Gibson style switch allows each pickup sound or a combo which sounds good and a little bit banjo-eeee. Maple and cherry neck and resonator cover aged with a mixture of shredded steel wool, tea bags, coffee grounds, soaked in vinegar overnight and longer. Hinge tail piece was aged with peroxide which had salt poured on it. Lotsa plunk und twang. Gitty, MGB, and Chinese parts.
I got those 'Distressed Appalachian Coal Mine Black Lung Blues'. Or as the Divine Oscar Wilde said: 'ALL OF US ARE LYING IN THE GUTTER BUT SOME OF US ARE LOOKING A THE STARS'
