Distressed Appalachian Black Lung Blues #1

This is build #50. in our shop 'the Social Studies store' in the mountains of Cumberland, Maryland. I have sold half of my cigar boxes to guitar players (including some pros!), and half to wannabes and to people who want to hang them on the wall. Maple and cherry neck and resonator cover aged with a mixture of shredded steel wool, tea bags, coffee grounds, soaked in vinegar overnight and longer. Hinge tail piece was aged with peroxide which had salt poured on it. Lotsa plunk und twang. Gitty, MGB, and Chinese parts.I got those 'Distressed Appalachian Coal Mine Black Lung Blues'. Or as the Divine Oscar Wilde said: 'ALL OF US ARE LYING IN THE GUTTER BUT SOME OF US ARE LOOKING A THE STARS'

  • Thanks Uncle John. I always like your comments and playing. The zero fret and bolt guide was an easy one, and I have been using it for some time. This time I also cut a groove into the bridge on top of the resonator and put a bolt there. I find that they sound just as good as anything, transfer the string energy, and keep the strings were they are supposed to be. Thanks for the comment.
