I have a few wine crates as well. I'm thinking a 2-string bass for one; just need to start on it. At least one is huge - maybe 6 bottles or so? I'm intrigued by your success and maybe just the motivation I need!
I’m so taken back by the loud acoustic resonance I don’t know if I want to use up the 90+ cigar boxes on my shelves. Plus, I don’t smoke but I LOVE wine!
Thanks Alan, John and Dave. I was going to cut it down because I thought it would be too cumbersome to play. Glad I didn’t because it sounds great. The bridge location gives it better acoustic resonance along with the size. It’s really easier to hold and play than my Takamine or Ovation six stringers.
Three bottle box from Fattoria Montecchio winery in Tuscany. Brought it back four years ago around the time I started building CBG’s. This is #41. Great acoustic resonance.

"Very Nice Bob", love the natural look of the timbers, :-)
