Glen, to answer your question, so far so good, but I do have some fine tuning to do to it, and that may involve adding some reinforcement to the aft end. The tailpiece is slotted to fit over the box and it is experiencing some lift when tuned up, so I'm considering a permanent attachment. I may also try changing out to some lighter strings. The Gitty pup sounds nice and mellow, which is good because there isn't much volume acoustically.
A lot of "firsts" for me on this build: First 4-stringer (other than a uke kit I did), first mag pup, first time working with copper, first neck I shaped with a heel, first bolt-on neck. Also, the fret board was a pre-slotted maple blank from Stew-Mac which I trimmed to width and then applied inlay strips to the sides like a binding. I really enjoyed some of the build challenges this project gave me, now I need to make it play as good as it looks
