  • The addiction is kicking in hard hahahaha! Today I brought home more scavenged maple intended for more necks and some ukelele necks a round cookie tin for a banjo, and a large tin for a bass. I've never played banjo or ukelele so what better way to start than building one!

  • Nice Burt! I see the addiction is kicking in, hence build 2! Welcome!

  • yes, it's a disc piezo. I watched a video on you tube, I think it was Glenn Watt, showing to hot glue it to the inside of the lid with a glue base to help pad it against so much noise. Hot glue over it as well, got it , thanks. Excellent, I've just been messing with it on my own but I'm definitely checking out some of the stuff on here for playing. I've started number 2, that one is getting frets. Picked up a box of finish nails today and I have some oak the perfect thickness for a fretboard. I got w fret from here yesterday.

  • Yup.  Nice box and build.     Lots of playing help at page top under resources.   If it is a disc piezo, I suggest that you hot melt glue it in place and then cover the piezo top with more hot melt.

  • This is my first baby. Fretless 3 stringer. It's getting a piezo pickup but I couldn't wait to string it and start playing. I'll add it when the piezo arrives in the mail, for now I've clipped one on for recording purposes.
