The intonation turned out great! I have it tuned like the bottom three strings of a regular at the moment. Maple neck, Wenge fret board, with a piezo rod in the bridge. I found the checkers box on e-bay for $5.00.

Cool. Mine folded in half so there's no back. I found a cigar box that matches up. it's getting complicated. The woods seem very similar. Is yours an old box?
Nicely done! I have a ebay checkerboard guitar in the works now, you beat me to it but I'm using a different approach. You'll see it in a while. So what did you do for the bottom of the box, or was it one piece. mine folded so there's no bottom. Very clean, I like it.

@ Dan Walter, It has a back and a front. I can take it apart if I remove the screws from the preamp and take apart the hinges.
