  • Its a matter of preference...but just make sure the tuning shaft (the part that drives the gear) is above the gear relative to the headstock...otherwise the tuning peg will not keep in tune...they are designed to work that way.

  • thank you. one other thing, does it really matter if the knobs are up or down. i think it's "correct" to have them down, but they look nice up.

  • Brass grommets are common to dress up the peg holes Daniel...and the McNally strumstick uses frets as rests for the strings coming out of peg holes so strings dont touch the wood...without something to address this though, the tension of strings and their relative thin profile will cut into the wood.

  • hi. looks really nice. i was wondering if the strings hitting the wood works ok? i want to try one of these pegheads.
