CGB No.9

First effort with a mag pickup, cheap store-bought. Bone nut, hard maple bridge, 25" scale, poplar neck with red oak fret board. Added an extra ply of 0.25" thick poplar, stained red mahogany, because I thought I'd need the extra clearance for the pickup. Turns out, it wasn't really necessary for clearance, but I like the look! Much more pick-room on this one as a result!

  • Thanks Unc!  This has been my largest box at 11 1/2 x 7 3/4 x 2, and the top is only 0.135" thick.  It has pretty decent tone in acoustic mode, but I bought a couple of these pickups and figured it was time!

  • Oh, man.  A whole lot to like.  Nice extra details.  Yup, I don't have to have much string clearance over the box, but like it when I do.
