Found this “steal” on Craigslist. In the pic it looks like it could be an arch top that needs a lot of work. I make a deal with the guy and have a coworker pick it up for me. Research revealed some Memphis guitars are junk and some are not. I’m thinking I just got me a arch top project and can’t wait to get started.

Some of the"crappiest" guitars , can have the most amazing tone . when simply stripped of frets , add a bolt nut, and made into a slider . with a higher success rate than an full restoration that may be for nothing .
Oh boy, something else to look at. Slash’s first guitar was a Memphis LP also. Said it was great until he found out it wasn’t. If nothing else I have an expensive template haha. We’ll see how it goes.
My first electric guitar was a Memphis LP copy.,.,,.plywood body.,.,single coils under humbucker covers.,.,terrible intonation.,,.the higher frets were equal distance from each other.,.,
Hanging on the wall at the music store as a kid I thought it was the real thing.,.
I'm sure you can make it better than new with a little effort.,,.

Checked the frets and they are in their proper place so I lucked out there.

Nice, I like that. I picked up a Harmony flattop for $1 and resurrected it.
