I put in a peizo but didn't mess with a volume pot this time around. A and D strings tuned to A and E. I wonder if there's a list of "chords" for this two string tuning? Strap is a piece of hemp cord with some scrap leather for my shoulder.

  • Micheal.  You have all the 'chords'.   But tuned A and E you are key of A and easiest playing will be that key using the chords A (open and barred at 12)   the fifth fret =D and the 7th = E.

Or for the Numbered type - open = I,  5th fret = IV and 7th fret = V.   Most of your playing should likely be open, 5th fret and 7th fret - with some use of the third and 12th.

Try this;  get a 1 2 3 4 count strum going.   Now fret the small string at the 2nd fret on the 3 count.

  • Ok.  Thanks.  I'm real weak on basic music theory still (as in none).  So does that mean E at the 7th or the 9th?  No C, B, F or G on this particular tuning, eh?

  • Nice welcome mat~!     With a 2 stringer tuned I, V   you will have the chords A open, D at the 5th fret,  and E and  then a high A at the 12th.   Also a lot of cool complimentary sounds at the 3rd.   You can do the whole boogie thing like knotlenny teaches in the how to play section- CBG 101.   He uses a 3 string, but your two will apply just fine.
