Brass Hammer

I unearthed this tiny hammer on an around the block walk. It’s brass and beautiful. Quite old I think.. the handle had broken but still there. I burned out the wood and polished it with 400 grit. Anyone know what it was used for? I’ll use it on fretting.

  • Thanks Keith. It would be just right to tap in string ferrules and tuner bushings. I hope I can make a good handle for it.
    It would look great on a shifter Brian.
  • One of my hot rod buddies has something similar on his shifter :D 

  • Lots of shops use them for tapping on metal and aluminum, so as not to mark up the item. Worked for Werner Ladder, and when assembling ladders, if a rivet didn't want to go thru, we would use one, to tap it thru.
