I unearthed this tiny hammer on an around the block walk. It’s brass and beautiful. Quite old I think.. the handle had broken but still there. I burned out the wood and polished it with 400 grit. Anyone know what it was used for? I’ll use it on fretting.

Thanks Keith. It would be just right to tap in string ferrules and tuner bushings. I hope I can make a good handle for it.
It would look great on a shifter Brian.
Lots of shops use them for tapping on metal and aluminum, so as not to mark up the item. Worked for Werner Ladder, and when assembling ladders, if a rivet didn't want to go thru, we would use one, to tap it thru.
