Don't know if you did this, (but I like it regardless!!) but just as some love resonator guitars (the proper term for a wooden body with dobro pan plate and guts) vs. full metal dobros, it makes sense to line a cigarbox or build a box where all is wood but the insides. Sides and bottom metal (or even inside/underneath top piece metal also) but surrounded by wood. A warmer tone, but especially with two sound holes (or other variations) would bring a bit of that metal twang and projection while yet warming it up beyond full metal dobro (or ersatz dobro re. cbg's). Makes sense to do. One could find metal (I work at a metal shop so no issues re. scrap or building a box inside a wooden box) or even flatten metal soup cans, or for that matter build wood around an existing lunchbox or squared/ish metal cookie tin, drill the holes just beyond the size for the wooden top. That bastard looks great in full size. Dave, it did look like metal inside the sound holes.
It's a pine box and neck with a oak fretless fingerboard.
