#AGP Bamboo Build Failure

I was pretty happy with myself when I came up with the design for these two Bamboo 3 String Builds, but every now and then, things don’t go as planned, finished the first one, a 24” Scale Build, used 34NW 21NW 16PS Strings Tuned CGc, about 11kg/24lb String Tension per String, but while Tuning, the Neck decided to break away from the Tube, more than likely because of me placing the Pickup in the Neck position instead of the Bridge “Live and Learn”, the parts go back into storage and the Bamboo on both Builds will be used for firewood. ;-{

  • I agree wholeheartedly Alan! And of course we creatively hide our mistakes or even turn them into features.

  • The best thing about making mistakes Doug, is you learn from them! :-)

  • It seems like most instruments I build are an experiment of some sort. It’s not always possible to predict what will work and how well. I appreciate you reporting one that didn’t go as planned. I can certainly identify with you Alan!!! I really do like Uncle Crow style builds; they are very underrated. My best sounding acoustic builds have been Uncle Crow. To most people they just don’t look right, and that’s unfortunate; they play great.

  • "Thanks for the Empathy UJ, BQ &AD,  if I were to do another, and I probably will do some time, I might go for an Uncle Crow design of some sort :-)

  • 11021482472?profile=RESIZE_710x        To bad AGP# string strenght  does this , i have a schets above , for a                  posseble solution to the problem ,and creating strength in using full                    bamboo and a differend neck creation  to get more strength and  stay                whit in the desighn parameters , what do you think ? ideer?

  • I tried this years ago myself, with the same results? Most likely there was a crack there before you even started. Bamboo is just like wood, it cracks when drying in the sun or exposed to high heat?

  • POO!
